Us, that is, my husband Tommy Eisgård and myself, Anne.

Tommy bought his first Irish Setter in 1971 and bred his first litter in 1976.

We first met in 1984, at which time Tommy had 4 Irish Setters, and I was thinking, Wow so many dogs!

We live in a small town called Bålsta, situated between Stockholm and Enköping.

Our  house is out in the countryside with a lots of space for us and our dogs.

We do not have any separate outside kennels as we want to have all our dogs indoors  with us.

However, sometimes, especially in the Spring and Autumn, I think that it would be nice to have a separate kennel for the dogs. The floors get so dirty that you could grow potato’s indoors.

Tommy works from home  and always take care of the dogs. I  work in a Supermarket as a cashier. I am always free on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so Tommy and I can do the last little things together. Chores like, cleaning the house, trimming the dogs, walking with them or training them in some way.

All our old and young dogs live together, in smaller groups so they do not play so much inside. We think it is so important to have this social contact and to meet dogs of different ages.

When it is time to watch TV it could be very tight squeeze on the sofa. I sometimes have the feeling that it would be better if I sat on the floor! They want so much to be with us and feel the contact and we give them this space on the sofa every night.

When it is time to go to bed it is really the same. I love to do crosswords or read a good book before I go to sleep. Qonnie always want to sleep in my arms so sometimes there is a  problem with the pencil or the book. In bed little Candy always wants to sleep at my feet, and she also wants to have some kind words before she sleeps.

The bed behind me is empty at the moment, but they don´t sleep alone there. That bed is empty and my bed is full up. When Tommy is coming to bed they also want to say good night to him. After a short time everything is back to normal and everybody is sound asleep!

I have heard that a normal family change the sheets twice a month!! They obviously do not have any friends in their beds!!!!

Everybody knows when it is feeding time without hearing the sound of food bowls. They have a little watch in their stomach so they know exactly what time it is. Their sad eyes never say “ We never get any food”. The dogs are fed twice a day, 10.00 in the morning and 17.00 in the afternoon. We give them Friskies with chicken and always some extra treats  thrown in. After feeding  and they have all  been out for a short while, everything becomes very quiet in the house. All our friends have found their favourite place and they take a little time off now.

When we have a litter they are born in a room very close to our master bedroom. We have full control over  them in their first few days. Tommy is a light sleeper and wakes up very quickly when he hears a sound from them. I feel very safe because I know that Tommy has everything under control, so that I  can sleep very soundly.

When the puppies are about 3 weeks old we move them downstairs to a bigger room, there they can play and have good time. It is also very easy to take them out from this room  into the outside dog run when the weather is good. We also take them into the kitchen so they can meet our older dogs.

A most handsome gentleman and so kind. He takes everyday and everything in his stride, his motto is “ Why bother”. His son “BoBo” has so much to learn from his father Qosmos about how to be humble and kind. Qosmos is the father of many of our past litters and many of his children have grown up to be beautiful Irish Setters, both in body and brains.

A dog who really thinks that he is the best and the most beautiful of them all. He loves to show himself in the showring or in our home. He loves it when somebody looks at him. He is always full of himself and he just knows that he is the best!!! To be humble means nothing to BoBo. He always wants the best in his life

Daddy’s Big Love, Red Tails Fancy a Candy ”Candy”

Born: 2000-03-17

Tommy’s little girl and special love. A little Donna Juanita, who is the most handsome lady and the most humble of our girls. She loves food and wants to have all the love she can get.  The best thing in the world for Candy is to have puppies. She is a very proud mother and always takes very good care of them. I think that she always wants to have  puppies around her, because that is what makes her happy,

 

Darling, Red Tails Qrusidull ”Qonnie”

Born: 2002-10-17

She is a very calm and kind lady who lives the aristocratic life the Irish deserves. Always waiting for food or sometimes will even take some food from the table if no one is watching. The best time of the day is when it is time to go to bed and read with mummy or watch the TV. She very much likes to run a lot, and always takes some extra exercise. However she is always coming back and  looking and wondering “ What is next”!!!!

Our new little star who believe that she is the highest, best and most beautiful. So, just as her father BoBo in every way. A lovely little Miss, which is making life a little more full of warning signs, in view of all naughty things you can do all the time. Even though it is never the little lady who has done something, is what she self is thinking-

At last little catlady ”Moisan”

Born: 2002-10-??

She is the Boss over them all. Her best friend is Laddie, who adopted her the first day she came into our house. Moisan is often found together with  the puppies and she plays with them in a lovely way.

 

This is our life and we love it. Our dogs give us so much back in return. A life without them would be like no life at all. When the days could be very grey and endless, but the  warm kind eyes and with a lovely kiss from our dog’s then everything bad is forgotten.
